How I can know if it is a sterling silver bracelet or white gold?
Serious answers only please. My daughter received as a gift and I said it was white gold. I feel I could be silver.
In general, anything that is claimed to be "gold" will have a sealed kt inside and 10kt, 14kt, 24kt or 18kt – these are the most common – and notes the amount of gold content is in the piece (24 being solid gold and very soft, 10 have fewer gold, but are more durable) sterling silver jewelry, if it is, is usually stamped inside w/.925. If there are no prints or marks anywhere on the bracelet and still want to know for sure you can always take your local jeweler …. but it is possible that either silver or costume in that case. Do not attempt any cleaning products or Other "stories" test of the surface as the variety of which can damage the finish and ruin the item on the basis of what is done. A jeweler always confirm w / you if you know what is fact before cleaning as different cleaners are required for different metals.
