Reba Nell McEntire was born on March 28, 1955. She is an American country music artist and also actress. She began her music career as a singer with her siblings on local radio shows as well as at rodeos. She was invited to give her performance at a rodeo in Oklahoma City as a solo act, which caught the attention of country artist Red Steagall. He then brought her to Nashville, Tennessee, where she eventually signed a contract with Mercury Records in 1975. Her first solo album was released in 1977. Until 1983, she had released 5 other studio albums under the label.
