All-Time Favorite Traditional Hispanic Recipes
All-time Favorite Traditional Hispanic Recipes
Hispanic food covers the culinary traditions of Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba, South and Central America.Visit Here Now http://bbc-food-network.blogspot.com
These countries have Spanish cultures and origins. Hispanic food varies from each town, family and region.
Hispanic groups usually like to eat their food with rice. Other Hispanics like to mix their meals with beans, potatoes, quinoa and wheat or cassava. These foods are not similar to your basic nachos, tacos, tamales and enchiladas. They have their individual mainstreams of menu items, from the main dishes, desserts and appetizers up to the beverages.
Listed below are different types of Traditional Hispanic Recipes:
1. Picadillo Tacos
Ingredients:
• 1 large chopped onion
• 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
• 2 cloves garlic minced
• 2 pounds lean ground pork
• ¾ cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
• 1 can or 15 ounce tomato sauce
• ½ cup pimento-stuffed green olives sliced
• Salt and pepper
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 12 purchased taco or tostada shells
• 3 cups shredded lettuce
• 1 ½ cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
• 1 ½ cups coarsely grated radish
• Lime wedges
Directions:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add garlic and onion, cook for about 3 minutes.
Cook until it becomes soft.
Add some pork.
Increase the heat and stir, breaking up the large pieces (cook until the pork is no longer pinkish in color).
Add tomato sauce, raisins, cinnamon, olives, pepper and salt to taste.
Simmer, stirring occasionally for about 10 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
Divide warm picadillos between its shells.
Serve this topped with radish, cheese, lettuce and a squeeze of lime.
2. Sweet Raisin Tamales
Ingredients:
• 35 pcs cork husks
• 1 ½ c butter
• 3 pounds corn masa (prepared, for tamales)
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• 1 ½ cup of Sun-Maid Natural Raisins Visit Here Now http://bbc-food-network.blogspot.com

Oil based primer or water based primer for interior doors?
I am planing to paint interior doors. Currently they are beige and seem to have a tint of aging plastic. They are hallow contractor grade raisin doors from what I can tell. The new door color would mainly be semi gloss or satin white. I read on several sites to use oil based primer. Why use oil based to water base primer?
Thanks
I know the doors are not wood. How can I tell if oil based paint was used? I gather the contractor used the the least expensive paint.
Thanks
I am a 37 year experienced painter..since the ageof 13 painting for my uncles…You mentioned the doors yellowing, and this is very common for aging oil based paints..It is the first sign to us professionals that more than likely..they were origianally painted oil base.. I also presume your finish paint will be a latex..ok..heres the rule..excepting primers …latex will not stick over oil based paints…but oil based will stick over latex…You do not know excactly whjat was used here..but from the yellowing i do…Prime the doors first with an oil based quick dry primer…then you can coat the doors with either latex or oil finish..both are compatible with the primer…I really do paint..the link below is a picture of me on one of my jobs I stripped wallpaper on and painting the entire inside…Notice the paint I’m sitting near..the black topped paint is an oil based primer..and the regular plastic lids behind it is a latex enamel..water base….It will stick,…
